Sanju Samson Returns To The ODI International Team

According to The Indian Express, Sanju Samson has returned to the ODI international squad for India’s tour of South Africa.

India is heading to South Africa this month for a full series, starting with three T20 Internationals, followed by three ODIs and then concluding with two Test matches, which will be part of the ongoing World Test Championship cycle.

Sanju Samson Did Not Get A Chance In World Cup 2024

Samson has been in and out of the Indian team and played his last ODI in the West Indies in August this year.

He then took part in the T20I in Ireland, but the wicketkeeper-batsman ultimately missed out on a place in the World Cup squad.

Rajat Patidar Also Got A Chance

The 29-year-old made his ODI debut in July 2021 and has played 13 matches in the format, scoring 390 runs at an average of 55.71 and a strike rate of 104.00. Indian Express believes that Rajat Patidar, who has recovered from injury.

It has also got a place in the Indian ODI team, while Surya Kumar Yadav has been rested from the Indian ODI team as he has been playing cricket consistently.

Virat Kohli has been given a break from India’s T20 and India’s ODI teams, while Rohit Sharma returns as captain in the shortest format after his absence following the T20 World Cup in Australia last year.

The team selection for the South Africa tour was to be held in New Delhi on Thursday. The senior selection committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will select four teams for the tour, which include India A, India T20 team, India ODI team and India Test team.
