IPL 2023 GT Vs SRH: Gujarat Titans Became First Team To Reach Playoffs Sunrisers Hyderabad Out

In the 62nd match of IPL 2023, Gujarat Titans defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 34 runs. With this victory, Gujarat has made its place in the playoffs and it has also been confirmed to be in the top-2 in the points table.

In the match played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 15 (Monday), Gujarat had given Sunrisers Hyderabad a target of 189 runs, but they could manage only 154 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs.

With the heartbreaking defeat, Sunrisers Hyderabad are now out of the title race. Sunrisers Hyderabad is the second team to be out of the title race.

Earlier, Delhi Capitals also had to be out of the playoff race. Now a total of three spots are left for the playoffs, for which seven teams are in the race. Chasing the target, Sunrisers Hyderabad had a very bad start and lost seven wickets for 59 runs.

Gujarat Titans fast bowlers Mohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami were responsible for this bad condition of Sunrisers Hyderabad, who bowled very sharply.

Anmolpreet Singh, Aiden Markram and Rahul Tripathi were run by Mohammed Shami. Whereas Mohit Sharma took the wickets of Sanveer Singh, Abdul Samad, and Marco Jansen.

At one time it seemed that Sunrisers Hyderabad would not be able to score even a hundred runs, but Heinrich Klaasen and Bhuvneshwar Kumar saved the team from a big defeat by sharing 68 runs for the eighth wicket.

Shubman Gill Studied Century:

Batting first after losing the toss, Gujarat Titans had a very poor start and lost the wicket of Wriddhiman Saha on the very second ball of the match.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar caught Wriddhiman Saha at the hands of Abhishek Sharma. After this, Sai Sudarshan and Shubman Gill brought Gujarat out of trouble by sharing a brilliant century partnership of 147 runs.

Sai Sudarshan scored 47 runs off 36 balls, which included six fours and a six. Sudarshan was sent to the pavilion by Marco Jansen caught by Natarajan.

After Sudarshan’s dismissal, Gujarat lost wickets at regular intervals. However, Shubman Gill was successful in completing his century during this period.

Gill scored 101 runs off 58 balls, which included 13 fours and a six. The special thing was that this was the first century of Shubman Gill’s IPL career.

If seen, four wickets fell in the last over of Gujarat Titans’ innings, in which three wickets went to Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s account, while one player was run-out.
