West Indies vs India: Kuldeep And Jadeja Made History Against WI: In the first ODI against the West Indies, the Caribbean batsmen were badly trapped in the spin by Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja. The spin duo took a total of seven wickets for Team India and also registered a unique record in their name.

In fact, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja took the West Indies batsmen by surprise in the first ODI of the three-match series.

Rohit Sharma’s team turned the match into a low-scoring contest after winning the toss and electing to bowl at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

West Indies captain Shai Hope played an inning of 43 runs in 45 balls for the hosts. Apart from Hope and key batsman Alyque Athanaj, no batsman could cross the 20-run mark.

In a match where pacer Mukesh Kumar made his ODI debut, spin wizard Kuldeep emerged as the favorite bowler for the visitors.

Spinner Kuldeep took four important wickets for just 6 runs, while his partner Jadeja sent Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell, and Romario Shepherd back to the pavilion. Interestingly, Jadeja took the wickets of Powell and Shepherd in the same over.

Sharing seven wickets in the first ODI, the bowling duo of Jadeja and Kuldeep created history in the 50-over format.

First pair of spinners to take seven wickets in ODIs

The pair of Kuldeep (4/6) and Jadeja (3/37) became the first pair of Indian left-arm spinners to take seven or more wickets in ODIs.

The bowling of Jadeja and Kuldeep forced the West Indies to register their second-lowest score (114) against India in the 50-over format. India had earlier bundled out the West Indies for 104 in Thiruvananthapuram 2018.
