The former India skipper also felt that the home advantage for teams from the subcontinent has reduced significantly in the last decade as overseas players are regularly competing in conditions, with the IPL being a major attraction.

Dravid said that ‘The home advantage in the subcontinent has reduced to a great extent in the last 10-12 years. People come here and play a lot, especially in tournaments like IPL. They stay here for three months and get used to the conditions. In such a situation, it will be a tough tournament. Actually, India’s first match in Asia Cup 2023 will be against Pakistan on 2 September and against Nepal on 4 September.
